Set surrounding acres of beautiful woodland, rivers, and historic parkland, Dartington provides the ideal backdrop for an inspiring and immersive residential. You’ll stay in comfortable, single-gender accommodation - offering your own bedroom for privacy and relaxation -while enjoying shared communal spaces designed to encourage teamwork, friendship, and collaboration.

Throughout the week, you’ll take part in a variety of outdoor activities and team challenges, led by our qualified and experienced instructors. From kayaking and climbing to bushcraft, navigation, and environmental projects, every day offers new opportunities to learn, grow, and connect with others.

Ten Tors is one of the UK’s most iconic youth outdoor challenges — a unique test of endurance, teamwork, and navigation that takes place across the rugged terrain of Dartmoor National Park. Designed for young people aged 14–19, the event challenges teams to hike distances of 35, 45, or 55 miles over two days, carrying all the food, clothing, and camping equipment they need to be entirely self-sufficient. It’s not just about physical fitness; it’s about resilience, leadership, and camaraderie — qualities that last a lifetime.

We can provide schools with outstanding Ten Tors experiences by offering expert training programmes that prepare students for both the physical and mental demands of the event. Our qualified instructors have deep local knowledge of Dartmoor’s terrain and weather systems, ensuring every session is both challenging and safe. From introductory navigation and expedition skills to full overnight practice hikes, we build confidence and competence step by step, tailoring training to suit the ability level of each group.
