LONE WOLF EDINBURGH 2027
Saturday 24 – Sunday 25 April 2027 | Dalkeith Country Park, Scotland
One loop. Every hour. On the hour. How far will you go?
Welcome to Lone Wolf Edinburgh 2027, a unique 24-hour endurance running challenge set in the beautiful surroundings of Dalkeith, just outside Edinburgh.
Whether you're taking on your first 10K, working towards a half marathon or marathon, or pushing yourself to the limits in pursuit of an ultra, Lone Wolf is a challenge for everyone. There's no set distance you have to achieve. You choose your goal, find your rhythm and decide how far you go.
The format is simple: complete one 6.7km loop every hour, on the hour. Finish within 60 minutes and you're ready for the next start. Use any time left to rest, refuel, recover and recharge before heading out again.
Five laps, ten laps, fifteen laps or the full 24 — every lap is a personal achievement. Whether you're here to challenge yourself, experience something new or compete for the championship, the journey is yours to define.
For those chasing the ultimate prize, the final runners will battle it out for the Lone Wolf Championship, with one male and one female champion crowned.
But Lone Wolf is about much more than competition. It's about endurance, resilience, determination and camaraderie. Runners of all abilities come together to encourage one another, share the experience and keep moving forward, one loop at a time.
Surrounded by the natural beauty and woodland scenery of Dalkeith, this is your opportunity to step away from everyday life, embrace the outdoors and discover what you're capable of.
Your pace. Your distance. Your challenge.
One loop. Every hour. On the hour. How far will you go?

HOW DOES LONE WOLF WORK?
The concept is simple, but the challenge is entirely your own.
One loop every hour: A new lap starts on the hour, every hour.
6.7km per lap: Complete the loop within 60 minutes to qualify for the next start.
Rest between laps: Finish early and use your remaining time to eat, drink, recover and prepare for the next loop.
Choose your distance: Aim for a 10K, half marathon, marathon or ultra. You decide how many laps you want to complete.
Take on the championship: Keep going and compete for the Lone Wolf titles, awarded to the last male and female runners remaining.
Every hour brings a fresh start and another opportunity to challenge yourself. You don't have to be an elite athlete or an experienced ultra runner to take part. Whether you're completing a few laps or aiming to last the full 24 hours, there's a place for you at Lone Wolf.
The challenge rewards more than speed. Pacing, nutrition, recovery and mental resilience all play an important part in helping you go further.
WHAT MAKES LONE WOLF DIFFERENT?
A challenge for everyone
From complete beginners to experienced ultra runners, Lone Wolf welcomes runners of all abilities. Set your own target, take the challenge at your own pace and celebrate every lap you complete.
Your distance, your choice
Every loop is 6.7km, giving you the freedom to work towards your own personal goal. Whether it's your first 10K, a half marathon, a marathon or an ultra, the choice is yours.
Hourly starts
Every hour, runners return to the start line together. Complete your loop within the hour, take time to recover and get ready to go again. The format creates a shared experience where runners encourage one another throughout the challenge.
A unique atmosphere
Lone Wolf is built around camaraderie and mutual support. From the first start to the final hours, runners share the highs and lows, celebrate achievements and help each other push through the tougher moments.
Running in beautiful surroundings
Experience the natural scenery of Dalkeith as you take on the course. The changing light, fresh air and peaceful surroundings create a memorable backdrop for a challenge that tests both physical and mental endurance.
A true test of endurance
Running is only part of the challenge. Managing your energy, nutrition, recovery and mindset between laps is just as important. Every hour is another opportunity to reset, refocus and keep moving forward.
