Emergency First Aid at Work Training (Level 3/6) - 1-Day Course

Overview;

Our Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed for workplaces where a first aid risk assessment has identified the need for an Emergency First Aider. This one-day qualification meets the requirements of:

Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982

This course provides essential skills and knowledge to respond effectively to emergencies in a workplace setting.

Qualification Details;

We offer two certification options:

RQF Level 3 Award: FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)

Unit 1: Emergency First Aid in the Workplace

SCQF Level 6 Award: Award in Emergency First Aid at Work at SCQF Level 6

Course Duration

Minimum of 6 contact hours in the classroom

Includes practical and theoretical activities

Syllabus;

The course covers essential first aid topics, including:

Responsibilities and reporting

Assessment of the situation

Dealing with an unresponsive casualty

Basic hygiene in First Aid

Resuscitation and AED awareness

Anatomy

Minor injuries

Bleeding control

Burns

Choking

Epilepsy

Shock

Certification

Assessed during the course by the instructor

Upon passing, learners receive a three-year qualification

Annual refresher training of three hours is recommended by HSE

Course Requirements;

Open to learners 14 years and older

Maximum class size: 12 students

Students under 16 cannot assume workplace first aid responsibility, and suitability for the role is at the employer’s discretion

Certificates expire as per the date on the certificate
